Our sessions are specially designed to consider all aspects of a child’s personal, social and physical development and to give as varied and fun a range of activities as possible. Talk to us about our curriculum and what we want children to learn.
What a typical session looks like:
Arrival – Children arrive and self register
We all sit to greet each other, sing our weather song and explain the day’s activities
Indoor classroom adult led and child initiated play
This gives children free choice of activities consisting of individually planned activities and/or focused activities in small groups with key workers. We encourage each child to experience a good balance of activities, choosing from the equipment set out such as:
- Show and tell
- small world, role play, arts & crafts
- mark making, sensory activities
- reading books, singing songs and learning rhymes
- days of the week, weather, seasons
- letter sound, colour, shape and number
Tidy up time
Outdoor classroom adult led and child-initiated play
Again, this gives free choice of activities such as:
Water and sand play
Obstacle courses
Mud kitchen
Parachute games
Bikes and scooters
Snack Cafe – children invited to visit
Extra Curricular clubs e.g. Pyjama drama, Playball
