Free Education (FEE)

How do I apply

To reserve your child’s place at Little Angels please complete a registration pack and call so we can secure your place and funding.

What is FEE

3 and 4 year-olds are entitled to 15 hours of free early education each week for 38 weeks of the year.  Your child becomes eligible from 1 September, 1 January or 1 April following their 3rd birthday. 2 year-olds can also access funding as long as they meet the local authority funding guidelines.

When can my Child start free Nursery Education?

Three year olds will be able to start a free nursery place in the September, January or April following their third birthday.

Your childs birthday must be before:

  • 31 March will be eligible for free nursery education from the Summer Term (April)
  • 31 August will be eligible for free nursery education from the Autumn Term (September)
  • 31 December will be eligible for free nursery education from the Spring term (January)

These are the cut off dates.

If your childs birthday is for example on the 1st or 2nd January and the term starts on the 5th January I am afraid their funding will not start until the Summer Term after Easter because they have passed the cut off date of 31st December.

How many funded hours can my Child have?

Your child is entitled to a maximum of 15 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year. Little Angels is an approved provider registered and inspected by OFSTED. Places are limited each year so please book early.

How is FEE reflected in invoices and payments

In line with the government Code of Practice, Early Learners administer the FEE “free at point of delivery”. This means that the FEE hours are never charged for those FEE hours.  Further information regarding nursery fees is available on this website.

What happens if session patterns change?

If a parent wishes to change their session pattern during the course of a term this must be agreed with the Nursery Manager and the Local Education Authority must be advised.
